HPSP Analysis: Short Selling Surges, But Why is Big Money Buying?
I took a close look at HPSP’s supply/demand and short-selling data today, and the trend is quite interesting. If you've been trading for a while, you'll feel how intense the power struggle is right now. Here’s my take after digging into the numbers.
1. Short Selling Explodes, Yet the Price Holds Up Short selling volume spiked over 180,000 shares today—twice as much as the previous session. Usually, this kind of pressure pushes the price down, but HPSP is holding firm and even trying to bounce back. This suggests that the buying support from below is stronger than the selling pressure. If it keeps holding here, those short sellers might be forced to buy back at much higher prices later.
2. Institutions Accumulating While Retailers Exit What's fascinating is that while institutional investors are quietly absorbing shares, individual retail investors are dumping them. It seems the market sentiment took a hit after the recent block deal news. However, the core technology of a unique equipment maker like HPSP hasn't changed at all. It’s worth thinking about why big money is choosing to soak up all that selling pressure right now.
3. Key Levels to Watch The 36,000 KRW mark looks like a major resistance level. The key is whether the market can swallow all those short orders and break above it. If it does, we might see a significant "short squeeze" as shorts are forced to cover, potentially leading to a stronger rally than expected. I was a bit anxious watching the charts today, but I'm going to keep an eye on the institutional flow a bit longer.

HPSP 수급 분석: 공매도는 터지는데 기관은 왜 계속 살까?
오늘 HPSP 수급이랑 공매도 현황을 보면서 든 생각을 몇 자 적어본다. 주식 좀 해본 사람이라면 지금 여기서 벌어지는 힘싸움이 얼마나 치열한지 느껴질 거다. 직접 차트를 뜯어보면서 든 개인적인 판단이다.
1. 공매도는 폭발하는데 주가는 버틴다 오늘 공매도 거래량이 18만 주 넘게 터졌다. 전 거래일보다 두 배는 늘어난 수치다. 보통 이 정도로 찍어 누르면 주가가 밀려야 정상인데, 오히려 버티거나 반등을 시도한다. 이건 누르는 힘보다 아래서 받쳐주는 매수세가 더 강하다는 증거다. 여기서 안 밀리고 버틴다면 공매도 친 세력들이 나중에 더 비싼 가격에 되사야 하는 숏커버링 상황이 올 수도 있겠다.
2. 기관 매집과 개미들의 이탈 재미있는 건 기관은 조용히 물량을 계속 담는데, 정작 개인들은 물량을 던지고 있다는 점이다. 지난번 블록딜 이슈 이후로 심리가 많이 위축된 게 눈에 보인다. 하지만 냉정하게 따져보면 HPSP 같은 독보적인 장비사가 가진 기술력이 변한 건 없다. 기관들이 왜 하필 지금 이 물량을 다 받아내는지 곰곰이 고민해 볼 문제일 것 같다.
3. 앞으로의 관전 포인트 지금 36,000원 근처가 아주 중요한 저항선으로 보인다. 여기서 공매도 물량을 다 소화하고 위로 뚫어주느냐가 관건이다. 만약 뚫린다면 공매도 세력들의 환매수가 유입되면서 생각보다 강한 슈팅이 나올 수도 있겠다. 오늘 장 보면서 나도 속이 좀 탔지만, 기관 수급 믿고 흐름을 조금 더 지켜볼 생각이다.
